What the table does not settle

Both models document an editing mode on top of generation, which is why this pair sits in the video-edit category, and both are API-only. The stated clip ceilings are the furthest apart of any featured pair: thirty seconds for Seedance 2.5 [1] against eight for Veo 3.1 [2]. ByteDance does not state a maximum resolution at all, so the comparison is deliberately incomplete and the table says so.

Length is not automatically an advantage in an edit battle. A single-pass thirty-second clip gives a model 3.75 times as long (30 s against 8 s) to drift from the instruction [1][2], while a short ceiling forces the work into a shot. When the arena opens, edit battles will hand both models the same source clip and the same instruction, which is the only fair way to settle that.

Run the same brief through both models yourself before anyone's leaderboard tells you which to use: run the Seedance 2.5 side yourself · script both runs through the API.
